View Web Source: My First Android Application.
Yesterday I decided to have a crack at writing my first android application.
A while ago, and I cannot remember for what reason, I wanted to see the source of a webpage on my phone and I was only able to find one app on the market which could do that. Unfortunately this app was terrible. The page source would be displayed in a TextBox so links etc wern’t selectable which I thought was a poor show. So I decided to write my own and this is what I came up with :)

Overall I think the project was a success and my first crack at an android application went well. If there is interest in the app, I could be persauded to add open/save features to it so you can save the html file to your phone and any other suggestions are welcome.
I also uploaded the app to my phone and runs with no problems - it all worked perfectly, and if I’m honest I think the Icon looks really good in the menu :D
(BTW: if anyone is interested in the icon, I created it out of a free icon package available at http://www.pixel-mixer.com)
But I had a horrible suprise when it came to releasing the application to the android market. To sign up as a developer I have to pay $20 :/ Now here is what I am thinking:
- Do I sign up as a developer and post my app to the market?
- Do I wait around and create a few more applications before posting them on the market? (If anyone has any ideas for an app, please post them below and I would be happy to have a shot at it)
- Do I wait and see if there is any interest in this application, and if there is subscribe?
- At some point I may be able to create a app worthy of putting a small price tag on, think there is a good chance of getting my money back do you guys think?
All thoughts and comments are very welcome, thanks :)
